Cleve Jones, 1st Tuesday Speaker
Cleve has been in the front lines of AIDS activism and was the founder of the NAMES Project AIDS Quilt. From the early days of the pandemic, Cleve has been in the thick of the battle and the controversy. He brings his unique perspective on the current crisis as both a witness to the history of the disease in America, and as a person who has had to deal with his own identity as an HIV positive individual. Please join him on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at J200.

LA's Groundbreaking Asian American Sketch Comedy Show
The Sketch Comedy Show will show live sketches by our comedic cast as well as filmed video sketches. Having the feel of Saturday Night Live meets The Chappelle Show, The Sketch Comedy Show will be taped with a live audience of over 350 and will ultimately be pitched to industry executives as a potential new TV show. Free Bus Tours of Historic Filipinotown by the Filipino American Library
In FAL’s Bus Tours of Historic Filipinotown, guides narrate the significance of particular sites, events, and individuals in and around Historic Filipinotown to present an historical overview of Filipinos in Los Angeles. Please wear black at lunch in the Quad! Calendar of Events: On Monday, Black Panther F.U.G.I.T.I.V.E.S in the Quad, 12pm-1:30pm. Screening of "A Huey P. Newton Story" at J200 from 7pm-9pm. On Tuesday, Elaine Brown in J200 from 7-9pm. On Wednesday, speaker Phyllis Jackson in J200 from 7-9pm and screening of "Comrade Sisters in the same time period. ON Thursday, David Hilliard at lunch in J200. On Friday, a campus dialogue in J101 from 5-7pm. Black Photo Exhibit in JSC Entrace all week.

GMC Trip
SLAC is sponsoring a trip to the Garment Worker Center (< <http://> http://www.garmentworkercenter.org/> ) on November 10 as part of the social justice series. The Garment Worker Center is an organization dedicated to organizing and empowering garment workers in Los Angeles. There will be a presentation on sweatshops in LA from the perspective of those who organize and communicate daily with garment workers in LA. Also, there will be the chance to see some LA sweatshops for yourself. Don't miss out! In order to ensure you have a spot please reply to slac@oxy.edu.
