Eligibility
In order to join Phi Alpha Delta, students must be in good standing with the college, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5
Fees
Phi Alpha Delta charges members an annual fee. A student’s first year in Phi Alpha Delta is $130, and is reduced to $100 for each subsequent year. While $100 always goes to Phi Alpha Delta, the additional $30 assessment in a student’s first year in PAD contributes to our chapter endowment. There is no formal scholarship or financial aid available to waive the cost of this fee.
Payment: Students may pay by check, credit card or cash. If a student elects to pay by check, the check should be made out to ASOC (Associated Students of Occidental College), NOT Phi Alpha Delta. If a student wishes to pay by credit card, in their first year they must submit the $30 chapter fee by cash or check.
Apply
To apply, you must submit a completed application with payment to the Career Development Center, located in downstairs Coons. You can download the application by clicking here (PAD Application 2009).
Initiation
Unlike joining a social fraternity, there is no pledge period prior to becoming an active member of Phi Alpha Delta: Rather, after an application has been received/approved by the PAD Headquarters, a prospective member can become an active member. After this, an initiation ceremony is held in the presence of our chapter, and chapter Adviser, Valerie Savior.
Meeting Information
The Occidental College Phi Alpha Delta Chapter meets the second Wednesday of each month at 5PM
