Museums:
Griffith Observatory
The Norton Simon Museum
is free of charge when you show your students ID. It has a very
relaxed environment and great exhibits. It's also nearby - at the beginning of
Old Town.
Getty Museum -
admission is free - all you pay is for parking. You take a pretty ride in a
monorail up to the museum. Beautiful architecture and gardens. Take the
architectural tours to find out more about the Getty.
LACMA (LA County Museum of Art) is located on Wilshire Blvd, next to the La
Brea tar pits. A variety of art exhibits are showcased in their various
complexes.
Amusement Parks:
Knotts Berry Farm
Six Flags Magic
Mountain - can get discounted tickets at the SAC - Enjoy all the rollercoaster
rides!!
Universal Studios - around 35 mins away from campus. Get discounted tickets
from the SAC - enjoy the Jurassic park ride, go Back To The Future, enjoy the
new Mummy ride (opened on June 2004), Shrek 4D, go on a studio tour and see some
movie sets.
After your day at Universal studios go walk around...
Universal City Walk
- go by bus or even the Metro Rail. Many shops, restaurants and even a HUGE
movie theatre complex with 18 rooms. They sometimes have movie premiers there. And there is a Hard Rock Cafe there too!

Shops:
Check out the 99 Cents
Store on York. Everything there is 99 cents!!
There are other stores around too - Pasadena too.
Glendale Galleria - a traditional mall located 10 mins away (by car).
They have a food court, Macy's, Nordstroms, JC Penny, Robinson's May, Victoria
Secret, Gap, and much more...
Old Town Pasadena - Shops, Restaurants, Book stores - a hip place to walk
around and hang out. Oxy's college town! when you are there check out 21 Choices
Frozen Yogurt and Boba World.
Paseo Colorado - Located further down on Colorado Blvd. Paseo is an open
mall complex with restaurants adn other various shops.
LA

Watch a game at Doger Stadium - and cheer "Let's go Dodger's
Let's go!" and have a Dodger Dog and end the night singing "Take me
Out to the Ballgame!"
Watch the taping of a talk show or sitcom at either CBS, NBC or WB
Studios
Go to Hollywood - and check out the Kodak Theatre (where they
present the Oscars and other award shows and concerts), the Grauman Chinese
Theatre to see the foot and handprints of famous stars, see all the stars on
Hollywood Blvd., check Disney's El Capitan Theatre, and
watch a musical hit at the Panthages Theatre. Also not forgetting to see
the famous Hollywood Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not
Museum
and do not leave Hollywood before taking a picture of the Hollywood sign -
which can be see from the Kodak Theatre complex (the 3rd floor balcony has a
better view).
Go to Rodeo Drive and shop with the rich from Beverly Hills!
